Albion Basin Family Pictures | Wallace | Whitney Beth Photography
This was such a happy and magical shoot! Katie called me to book (essentially) their farewell tour of Utah. They are moving to Texas and wanted photos to remember and cement their time here in Utah. I told her I knew of the perfect place; Albion Basin (up Little Cottonwood canyon). Funny story, I actually had a client last year that was moving out of state and requested “mountains” for their location. I ended up taking them here too. You really can’t beat this view! It was a little chilly, but the girls were troopers! The pops of fall colors coming out went perfectly with their outfits. It was so good.
We spent the evening trouping around the hillside and becoming the best of friends. Seriously, Katie and I were already talking about arranging a few marriages between her girls and my boys. All the more reason that I am so sad they are moving! I’ve had a few clients turned friends before and it is the best! This started out feeling like it was going to head that direction, so I told Katie she needs to come back to Utah for her yearly family pictures! Ha!
After shooting at Albion Basin in the summer and having to wait our turn for specific spots, it was such a nice change of pace coming in the fall. We were literally the only photoshoot on the mountain! The only other people we saw was a handful of hikers and bikers. Both of which were only around for a moment. It’ll be so sad once it starts snowing and the summer road closes up until next year. I just can’t get enough of Little Cottonwood Canyon!
I had such a lovely evening with my new best friends and I am so happy for them to have these photos to remember Utah by. Such an honor to be tasked with capturing that moment. Enjoy their favorites from the session, and if you want your own Albion photos taken next year – either in summer or fall, be sure to send me an email through my “book now” tab. That way I know to get in touch when things start opening up again.
