This last week we got to celebrate my sweet little Remmy’s 1st birthday! You guys know that I like to go pretty big with birthdays around here. (My mom did it for each of us 10 kids growing up and it made us feel so special.) Remington’s theme was, “One in a Melon” since homeboy was born right in the middle of summer.
I made up the invitation and we kept it relatively “small” and only invited family – which is still a lot of people! Haha! We hosted the party outside and had the kiddie pool up with the splash pad going for the kids to play in. After pizza we had a watermelon eating contest where Remmy’s Uncle, Rich won!
I made a balloon arch to go above the seat of honor and everyone got to watch Rem go to town on his cake! He is a fancy baby like his brothers and only started to dig in after given a fork. After this party, I think every cake smash birthday should be accompanied by a splash pad! Easiest clean up ever! During the party I had everyone who came write a note for Remmy to read on his 18th birthday. I’ve done that with each of my kids and keep them in a special box that holds their baby book, yearly letters from me and anything else sentimental.
