My 30th Birthday Party | Whitney Beth Photography
Birthdays are big at my house. 30 is a big birthday. I am all about documenting life and embracing real moments – and that includes turning 30. Rather than mope about it, I have fully embraced this new decade in life. I love dancing and going to dances, it’s a big part of my teenage years. So what’s more fun than a giant dance? A giant dance where you’re not awkward and you love your date and everyone is a friend. So that’s what I planned for my 30th – One big, happy, family friendly rave. lol
I reserved my church building and got it all decorated. I’m so happy Danny is a good sport because we were there most of the day stringing up lights, blowing up balloons and hanging tinsel. It looked pretty sweet. I had a food table with pizza and dessert. And since it was also April Fools – I threw in a few fake cockroaches among the cookies and plates for fun.
I made a balloon arch and set up a backdrop so that people could come in, take a picture with my polaroid camera, glue it into my book and write a little something. It turned out so cute! I had so much fun dancing and seeing old and new friends that I only remembered to take pictures of the actual dance at the end of the night. My two best friends (since we were 14) and their families were able to come to the dance. After everything was cleaned up, they came over to my house for an hour so we could chat and the kids could play. As they were leaving, I had all the kids get on the couch and I snapped a picture. I just love how much our husbands are friends and our kids love each other. It’s the best feeling ever!
Thank you all for your birthday wishes! I loved every second of turning 30!
