Hidden Valley Park Extended Family | Wood | Whitney Beth Photography
Fall morning sessions are some of my favorite – especially when combined with Hidden Valley Park and an annular solar eclipse. The combo I didn’t know I needed! It’s funny, as I was waking up and eating breakfast on the morning of the photoshoot I found myself frantically googling “amount of light during an annular eclipse” and “when will the eclipse reach peak for Sandy, Utah?” That night I had dreamt that it got to be pitch black during the photoshoot as a result of the eclipse. Lucky for me and my lack of foresight, the shoot was timed perfectly to end before the eclipse – which wouldn’t have mattered anyways since we were outside looking at it and I noticed that the light would have been ok for shooting in. In fact, I think it would’ve produced some cool photos. Next one! But in all seriousness I loved my time photographing the Woods at Hidden Valley Park in Sandy. It’s one of my favorite morning locations. This day was also my first time competing for spots with multiple photographers! Usually if it’s a Saturday I’ll run into one maybe two other photographers during peak season. This day, however, there were probably close to 6 other photographers that I passed – with I’m sure more out of view. It was crazy to me! But despite the more crowded than normal conditions, the photos are stunning! I attribute this to the beautiful fall Utah had thanks to all the snow that winter. The colors were popping and I couldn’t get enough of it! Especially when you add in the Woods with a few of them being redheads. Such a perfect season for them!
Enjoy my favorites from their session! If you want your own photos taken here, (It’s a beautiful location year – round) send me a message through my “book now” tab and we’ll get things moving.
