In Home Newborn Photos | Wells | Whitney Beth Photography
I always take my baby’s newborns in our home, I love the look and simplicity of a more “life style” approach – plus I feel like it’s great bonding time for us both. Wells’ newborns were a little more tricky and he was older than I’d like to have done them – mainly thanks to his stint in the NICU. (If you’re curious what happened/why he was on oxygen you can read about it in his Birth Story blog post.) I took his newborns on a day that we were starting to wean him off of his oxygen. In some of the photos I edited out the red circles where his stickers were. (They held his oxygen tube in place.) I also left them in others. I don’t do a lot of photoshop in the sake of documentary. Regardless of how I felt about them, they were still a part of his life those first few weeks. So as hard as it is to have that reminder, I still think it’s important to have the majority with them in. All in all it was probably about a half hour of shooting before his oxygen levels started to dip (I left the monitor on the entire shoot and you can see the cord in a handful coming off of his toe.) And I decided I had what I needed. Back on oxygen he went for another week or so. I’m so thankful to have these pictures and to look back at how little he was. At the sake of not boring you with tons of barely different photos of baby Wells, I’ve compiled a handful of my favorites to share. Enjoy!
