Draper Extended Family Pictures | Jones | Whitney Beth Photography
It’s my families turn for a feature! I make my family take yearly pictures and have been doing it since 2009 – which makes this year our 14th consecutive family picture. Crazy right?! What’s even crazier is I take them all myself with a tripod. It’s a lot of work, but I love doing it for my family and showing the growth year after year. Which is moving pretty quickly between inlaws being added in and kids being born.
This year was extra special since every one of my siblings and their families were in town – and no one was pregnant. The last few years we’ve had a missionary out and/or my sister in law or I have been pregnant. I kept referring to this picture as our “hot girl summer.” Ha!
We had a bit of a hiccup the day of the shoot and was stuck at a standstill at the mouth of the canyon thanks to a mud slide that had made the road impassable. With a car full of potentially grumpy people, we turned around and I frantically tried to think of a location that would work for a group of 22 people. I remember hearing about a trailhead called, “Coyote Hollow,” so I looked it up on google, took a chance and drove over there.
It had a meadowy spot right by the parking lot – so that’s where we set up shop and I took everyone’s pictures. Considering the circumstances, our outfits looked pretty good with it! Let’s all just take a minute to enjoy the “stick head” free family picture (IYKYK)
