Holladay Family Pictures | Wood | Whitney Beth Photography
One of the best perks of the job is when family and friends hire me. I get a good chunk of time with them solo to catch up, talk, and take their photos! (All my favorite things!) So I was so excited when my sister in law, Nancy, asked me to photograph her family this year!
We were on a bit of a time crunch, since they were only in town for a weekend and I already had a shoot scheduled for earlier that day, but we made it work! Lucky for me there was cloud cover all day so I didn’t have to try and fight with the sun. We went to one of my favorite places in Holladay full of Russian Olive trees. Before I knew Nancy wanted me to photograph them she was sending me pictures of possible outfit combos. I saw all the blues and greens she had and instantly thought of this place. Happy to say that it worked out amazingly well and the colors of the leaves and their outfits were perfect.
The only downside to photographing family, is I’m not sure how my nephews act around a photographer that isn’t their aunt. That being said, sometimes the younger two are more work than toddlers! Since I was already coming off of a photoshoot and Brett was giving me grief, I started tickling him and playing peek-a-boo like I would a toddler. Surprisingly enough, it worked very well. Hahaha! This was the best smiles I’ve gotten from him since he was an actual toddler. I just love these guys and am so happy I could be the one to document them!
