4th of July | Whitney Beth Photography | Utah Family Photographer
I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! I’ll tell you what, this one was a whole heck of a lot better than last year! Last year I was 4 days away from giving birth and sooo miserable and hot! We partied hard this year, starting with a 6.5 mile round trip hike to lake Mary, Martha and Catherine. I carried Rem on my back and Danny carried Fields (Jones walked!) so I didn’t bring my big camera. But it was so beautiful and fun! The boys caught fish at the top and I had the time of my life exploring all the wildflowers that were beginning to bud.
Sunday we had a Robbins family dinner at my brother and sister in laws’ house in Spanish Fork. We had tank wars and enjoyed each other’s company. I helped Fields assemble his tank at this party and he won!
*We do tank wars by divvying out tanks, army men and small fireworks like flowers and smoke bombs to everyone. Each person gets a regulated piece of tape to use. The object of the tank wars is to see who can melt their army guy the most. There are secondary awards as well, such as “lighting someone else’s tank on fire,” “longest burn” and whatever else we come up with!
Monday, the 4th started with a little breakfast with our neighbors in the circle. Then we had a BBQ for lunch up at my mom’s with all my siblings that were in town. It was also my nephew’s 1st birthday! So we had a little party for him and took pictures of him and Remmy together – the July babies only 4 days apart! later in the evening we headed back to my house and had the kids play in the sprinkler and splashpad. We ate pizza and geared up for Tank Wars Round two! This time I made my own tank and dominated the competition! Ha! Winner gets to hold and use the giant sparkler sword!
We let off a few more fountains and small fireworks and called it a night. Rem did not like the loud noises, so we watched from the back seat of the car and Fields joined us every few fireworks. Such a fun filled holiday weekend with my favorite people!
