Draper Wetlands Portraits | Jones |Whitney Beth Photography
Six! My little buddy is now 6! (Well in a few days.) I asked Jones where he would like his pictures taken this year and gave him a list of options. He wanted to do the “duck park” by our house – aka the Wetlands.
Since I take so many pictures of my own kids, I want them to enjoy it and feel like they have a say in what they wear and where we go. I took him to H&M and let him pick out an outfit (that also doubles as his Easter outfit.)
I had my whole crew with me for the pictures. I loaded up the double stroller and kept the other two contained. Or at least tried to. Remmy was not having it and I ended up carrying him on my hip the whole shoot. All while pushing the stroller and photographing. At the end of the session I was beat!
When we first got to where we were starting, Jones called the ducks over. We usually bring bird seed to feed them, so they know us very well. Well, it worked too well and we were so surrounded by ducks that Jones couldn’t focus on pictures and instead was nervous with them being behind him. Ha! Eventually the figured out we didn’t have the good stuff and left us alone, but they were never far. In fact, you can even see them in the background in a handful of the pictures!
I love this little boy of mine and am so thankful for our yearly photoshoots and that he still lets me take his picture. He’s such a great big brother, so helpful and a friend to everyone. We love our Mr. Jones!
