One of my favorite snowy moments is when it is sunny and snowy at the same time. I’m a sucker for magical light, and there’s nothing more magical than thousands of tiny flakes glistening in the sunset glow.
About a week or two ago I was inside with the boys putting laundry away. I looked up to see the sun bursting through the thick layer of clouds overhead as it descended below the horizon.
It looked like it was raining glitter.
I quickly picked up Remmy and had the boys follow me outside. They threw on shoes, Fields grabbed a coat, I picked up my camera and we all ran outside.
I’m always trying to instill a love for the magic and adventure of being outside in nature in my boys. And this day was a wonderful manifestation of that. My boys ran around and jumped in the snowfall. They chased snowflakes and made Rem laugh. And of course, the classic, “throw a snowball at the house.”
Truth be told, it had been a “meh” day. We were trying to recover from our trip and get everything put away – on top of catching with work. So our little frolic in sun snow was the perfect dose of magic for our day.
