Merry Christmas to the boys! Danny and I gifted the kids a trip to Disneyland as their big present. This was such a special trip for us. Not only because the last time we went to Disney I was 16 weeks pregnant with Fields, and it was the younger boys’ first time there. Last year when I was making goals for myself and my business, the top of the list was to take my family to Disneyland and pay for the whole thing using money I had made from my photography. I wondered if I was going to be able to do it, especially during a year I had planned to take a few months off for maternity leave. But thanks to all my wonderful clients, I met my goal!
We picked our trip dates based off of an internship conference. If you’ve been around on Instagram this past school year, you might’ve seen my sister (aka my intern) around. She and I were asked to speak at a conference for the program in St George. Since we were already going to be down south, we decided to just keep driving to California.
We stayed at my sister in law’s house in St George Friday to Saturday and pulled into our hotel Saturday afternoon. And not a moment too soon since we learned that Remington hates road trips, screamed for hours on end, tried his first dum dum in an act of desperation and blew out in his car seat just as we arrived to the hotel. Homeboy had to have a bath and I got to wash our his car seat liner in the bathtub. We spent the rest of the day grabbing dinner and playing in the pool. Our hotel had water slides and a nightly movie you could watch from the kiddie pool. The boys loved it!
Sunday was our beach day. We stopped in at Balboa island for some Balboa bars (ice cream bars dipped in lots of yummy toppings.) Then we headed to Santi Monica Pier to enjoy the sunshine. It was such a warm welcome after leaving cold Utah.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday was Disney! We had so much fun! There’s something so magical about seeing your kids experience the fun and magic that is Disneyland. It was also the best to be there with my parents and younger siblings and get to share in all the memories with them.
