Disneyland Senior Pictures | Hailey | Whitney Beth Photography
What a way to document senior year – at the happiest place on earth! I can’t help myself, and had a senior mini session for Hailey’s senior pictures at Disneyland! Luckily we were at Disneyland for two of the three days and were able to split up our session across both of those days, because half the time Hailey or I were stuck on a ride during *golden hour.* So it was nice to have more time than we needed and another day to get some shots that we missed the first day. We hung around and shot mostly in Galaxy’s Edge, New Orleans and near the Castle. The tricky part of planning a photoshoot while also on vacation is that you have to either sacrifice morning light or getting on your favorite ride first thing in the day. Since Hailey just wanted a mini shoot, and this was her first time in Disneyland, she opted to shoot during our breaks and downtime – which worked out just fine!
I would’ve killed to have had the chance to do senior pictures in Disneyland! We were able to get some nice, close shots without any people in the background for a very classic “senior picture.” But I also wanted some pulled back ones that showed where we were – these were impossible to get without people in them. Best we could do was wait for a lull in the crowd. Since I’m very much a “this is real life” photographer, the people-y shots don’t bug me. Especially given that we have so many good ones of Hailey and a clean background.
What would you have done? Skipped out on the first ride of the day for that morning light and fewer crowds, or embraced evening time and breaks with people in the background?
