Today, I’m excited to share with you a memorable photoshoot I had with the Luddington family from Wyoming during Easter weekend. Despite the unpredictable weather, we were determined to make the most of our time together.
Normally, with crazy weather, I would reschedule a shoot, especially in spring. However, since the Luddingtons were coming from out of town and had only one day available, we decided to cross our fingers and hope for the best. The day of the shoot started with snow in the morning and continued with rain all day. Just when it seemed like the weather wouldn’t cooperate, it miraculously stopped, and we were able to meet up at the Salt Lake City Capitol.
The Luddingtons were hoping for cherry blossoms, but unfortunately, we were about a week too early. Despite this, I knew that the blossoms would still read as pink on camera, so I wasn’t too worried about the overall look. The weather, however, was another story. It was overcast, cloudy, wet, and freezing! The poor little kids were shivering so badly, but they were such champs, enduring the cold for the sake of the photos.
We blasted through the shoot in just 30 minutes, with the littlest one having a hard time with the cold. However, thanks to some cheap thrills of being thrown in the air, we were able to get a few smiles out of her. When I got home to edit the photos, I decided to try something new. I used Photoshop and AI to add in blossoms, creating the look as if they were in full bloom. It took a few tries to get it right, but the end result was better than I could have hoped for!
The photos turned out beautiful, capturing the love and resilience of the Luddington family despite the challenging weather conditions. It was a memorable experience, and I’m so happy with how the photos turned out. Here’s to embracing the elements and creating lasting memories together!
