As of 8pm on Saturday the 3rd, we don’t have to think about mugs or tumblers or the Christmas Market – at least until January 2023 when we start prepping and planning for next year!
If you aren’t aware, my husband is a potter and does it part time in-between his day job and everything else he does he’s needed for. Last year was our first year at the This is The Place Christmas Market – but we were only there one day. It was more or less a trial run to see how we’d do/like it. Well it went very well and they asked us back for the 2022 market, only this time it was for all four days!
Danny has been working incredibly hard to throw hundreds of mugs and tumblers for the market. Seriously – the last time we had a “date night” was when we went to Oregon in October. Not only do we sell his pottery, but we sell them full of hot cocoa or Kinderpunsch (it’s similar to a wassail.) Which was perfect for this year since it was so cold! On one of the nights we packed up for the evening it was 23 degrees outside!
The Market started on November 30th and lasted until December 3rd. I came up to work the booth everyday after school and stayed until close. We had lots of family filter in and out throughout the days to help aid and man the booth (which was so helpful for bathroom breaks! haha!) I loved seeing people walking around with Danny’s pottery in their hands. I am so proud of him! It was so much work, but in the end, we sold completely out! There wasn’t much time for me to take many pictures since we were pretty busy round the clock, but I managed a few spread out among the days.
