I love these guys! A bit of backstory – Ashley and I met when we lived a few doors down from each other in the dorms at BYU-Idaho. We became fast friends and got into plenty of trouble. (Including bleaching and dyeing a strip of our hair teal and having to pin it to our heads in order to get into the testing center.) I’ve been taking pictures for her family ever since she was pregnant with her oldest, Tina. When Tina was just a chunky, little, babe, Ashley’s entire extended family came out to Utah for a fun (snowy) reunion. Ash called me up and asked if I was free to take pictures of her whole crew.
Well here we are five ish years later and the gang is all back together! Ashely called me up and we found a date that worked for pictures. Since Ashley’s family is mostly from California (with a grandma coming in from Hawaii) I wanted to give them a location that was very much “Utah.” Especially since last time we focused on snow! Tibble Fork Reservoir up American Fork Canyon was the perfect spot! Especially for a morning shoot. If I have to choose between evening or morning to photograph at Tibble, I will always choose morning! It worked out perfectly since we were also shooting on Black Friday. We had the place entirely to ourselves – which if you’ve been up there this fall at all you know is a big deal. Towards the end of the shoot a few other photographers joined us on the beach, but we were in a prime location. I loved it! It was so good to see all the family again and be able to photograph them! The best part of my job is catching up with my return clients! Enjoy my favorites from the shoot!
