My Rebrand | Working With Hirschi Creative | Whitney Beth Photography
Now that I’ve had my brand new site up and running for a few weeks, I thought I’d give a review of my time working with Amy and her team at Hirschi Creative. I’ve had this little business of mine since I relaunched it in Utah in September of 2012. So yes, this September marks TEN years of being a Utah business. (I started my photography gig in 2007-ish during high school, but stopped in 2010 for the move to Utah with my family.) The entire time I’ve been up and running I have done everything myself – logos, brand, website, etc. All while going to school full time or having babies. Up until now it has been the “Whitney Show.” The thing about doing everything yourself for your business is there are usually a lot of areas that are lacking, so to speak. With my work getting better and better and my clientele growing, I needed my website to reflect my work, my prices, and me.
Enter Amy.
I’m not entirely sure when I started following Amy on Instagram, but I do know that it has been awhile. Like we’re talking when she used to be a photographer. Her style and personality is so happy and colorful I knew that if I was going to have anyone do my site and brand, it would be her.
So we set up a phone call and I explained what was and wasn’t working with my website and basically I wanted her to do everything. After nearly a decade of doing it myself I said, “treat yo self!” and booked the completely custom package.
I don’t know if me going into the design aspect of not knowing what I wanted, but more of what I felt was helpful or frustrating, but that’s how it played out and that’s also how I learnt that Amy is a mind reader. Seriously. She had me do this exercise to figure out what my style was and what colors I liked and then she presented me a mock up of some potential colors for my brand. After a few minimal tweaks I was thrilled with the brand colors you see now on my website. Days after okaying the colors, I was putting laundry away when I noticed something. (I put my clothes away in rainbow order.) I noticed that my new brand colors made up the majority of the colors I ALREADY WEAR. And in nearly 10 years of working and branding myself it had never occurred to me to use those colors. It seems like such a “duh” moment right now, but at the time it was like an epiphany.
And that’s just one instance. The entire time we worked together I had total faith and confidence in Amy. She would word things for me on my website that if I didn’t know better, I would have sworn I wrote it. It was also so fun that we were in similar stages of life. Especially since our babies are about a month a part. Hello back to back maternity leave! So while it doesn’t normally take this long to launch a brand, there was no one more understanding of what my life looked like than Amy.
Over and over again, throughout this entire process I just kept thinking. “Yes! Amy gets me, this is me!”
When I was doing this solo I could never even come close to nailing it the way Amy did. That’s the beauty of outsourcing and finding someone better at something than you to do the job for you. You get magic.
So if you’re needing branding and a website facelift, I highly recommend Amy with Hirschi Creative. Amy and her team did a phenomenal job and I am so pleased with my website.
In fact, I love it so much, I already bought myself this custom wax seal of my logo. It’s so extra, but I love it!
Thanks Amy!
