Holladay Extended Family Shoot | Moyle | Whitney Beth Photography
While I love photographing extended family sessions, I know for the most part, the subjects are usually less than thrilled. That’s why when I photograph all my extended family clients I don’t expect to see them back for at least a few years. It’s tough getting everyone together and coordinating schedules, I get it! So imagine my joy and surprise to have DeAnn message me about scheduling family pictures. I just took their last family picture last summer! As it turns out, in just a handful of months, those pictures were already outdated – with three new additions to the family! Melissa and Brian welcomed twin baby girls to the family, and Alex (or Uncle Becky – as the kids call him) was engaged and he and his lovely bride, Morgan, got married on May 21st! Such exciting times! To really nail it in that it was meant to be, the only day that the Moyles could do the photoshoot was the only open Saturday I had left in May! Talk about fate! Since DeAnn and John had Melissa, Brian and the twins staying with them, they wanted a location that was pretty close to home base. Twin 3 month olds are all sorts of unpredictable! I don’t shoot in Holladay much, so I took my boys out one sunny day and went driving and location scouting. They loved it and we found some pretty cool spots that I def want to come back and picnic at! The location we settled on was perfect! Since we had to shoot earlier in the day to accommodate bedtimes the trees were the perfect diffusers. Mixed with the fresh, spring grass and wildflowers plus the Moyle’s perfect matching outfits and we were set up for a beautiful shoot! It was a perfect evening. The kids were cooperative, (even the twins!) and we got some super cute shots. I think it helped that it hadn’t been very long since our last shoot and I knew everyone’s name and the kids knew me! I knew the twins would be little, so I brought a leather mat for them and they loved it! We were able to get some cute shots of them cuddling on it without having to be in the itchy grass. During the shoot we were able to talk and laugh and have the most stress free extended family shoot I have ever had! It was a dream! The pictures turned out amazing and DeAnn decided to have them all made into a photobook again so that they have them all in one place that they can peruse at their leisure. Enjoy my favorites from their session!
